Comment: Über die Jahre half ich immer wieder befreundeten Bands beim Erstellen von Promotexten oder ich wurde von Plattenfirmen um Liner Notes für Re-Releases gebeten. Das kam allerdings nur relativ selten vor, während manche Journalisten einen guten Teil ihrer Brötchen verdienten, indem sie beispielsweise für Plattenfirmen solche Texte schrieben. Dennoch sollen meine wenigen Texte ebenfalls hier ihr Plätzchen finden. Dabei habe ich mich am Original orientiert, so daß einige der bei uns üblichen Schreibregeln wie beispielsweise die versale Schreibweise aller Bandnamen hier nicht zwangsläufig zum Zug kommt.
Ihr habt hiermit an einem noch unveröffentlichten Text teil: 20TH CENTURY MUSIC arbeiten schon seit längerem an einem KINGSBANE-Re-Release. Natürlich war es mir eine Ehre, für diese großartige Band Liner Notes beizusteuern. Hier könnt Ihr also meinen Text schon mal vorab lesen, der dann im Booklet des Re-Release erschienen wird. |

KINGSBANE
»The Lost Archives«
They stood the test of time. »The Lost Archives« are a strong proof for that force, that makes KINGSBANE eternally unique: Can you remember the feeling of being completely overwhelmed, when listening to ›The Wages Of Sin‹ for the first time in 1991? You get just the same impression again from this anthology, that gathers all the recordings, that the Canadians did: Shivers will run down your spine, that seemingly will never stop.
It was 1986, when the band came together and the musicians started sharpening their musical blades, that made this experience possible. Guitarists Mark Stewartson and Matt Draper found that fine tuned balance between heavy riffing and calmed down clear guitars, that would give all of their songs this special balance, that you will find nowhere else. Bassist Tom Rokicki and drummer Dan Russell came together as a strong and at the same time flexable unity, that would give each song, what it needed. When in 1988 Fabien Madeleine came in as a singer, the picture was complete: This was the voice to give the compositions the depth, that would make then immortal. KINGSBANE had perfectionized their crafts and they were ready to start their journey. From now on destiny was awaiting them and the sky was the limit.
They created their very own sonic dreamscape, that will always be one of a kind. KINGSBANE took us into the light, a new light of magnificent melodic and progressive Metal. One thing is for sure: The impact of their art will last for a lot longer than seven times seven years. And fortunately the »Lost Archives« will help, that these masterpieces will never be lost in time.
